just reading the vital statistics column and lookind down the list it takes a e.g martin hadland escort its 330 bhp and 0-100 and 0-60 same sort of times as my spec c but it bottems out at 153 mph. as to my 167 mph?
My car does 0-60 4.2 and 0-100 in 11.1 and 167 top end read evo mag jap performance car etc... the evidence is there and my car is STANDARD
i had to buy this book just to get a bit of research and i can truly say looking at these stats it takes a 400bhp car to do mine in a straight line , and even then these cars dont have half the technology as mine when it comes to handelling ?
looking at these cars they are either fast top end or fast bottem end i am sure there are some cossies out there that havethe ability to do both but not in this mag.
And still i can say respect to a cossie but i think some of you think they are some kind of space travalling super car?
That spec for Martin hadlands car is soooo out of date it's unreal!
Before he wrote it of doing the Gumball it recorded a 2.88 second run to 60, a 6.06 run to 100 and a top speed on 194mph (Within the confines of Brunters)
Thats why the top speed is only 153 as that was timed at bruntingthorpe IIRC which is only about 1.7 miles long.
There is only so much you can read into figures on paper though.
I'd expect quicker than 4.3secs from a real 330bhp 4x4 car so I don't know if it was wet when it was timed or what? Who knows?
I can show you a stage 1 RWD saff (280bhp) that did consistant 12 second quarters and I know another RWD saff that recorded a 2.99 0-60 run and that was only stage 1 or 3, not sure which (280 to 330ish bhp)
