as a new member to this forum i thought the least i could do is add a story of embarrassing the jap crap.
A34 northboun heading from winchester towards oxford cruising abou 80 - 90 when a 22B came alongside, he gave me a sly look and started to pick up the pace, not wanting to be outdone i matched him for a while touching 100 - 105 till the road was well clear, then i let 32 PSI out of my 4x4 Saph and he was gone - i didn't even have to leave the left hand lane!!
About 30 miles later sat outside McDonalds in the services he pulls in and actually came up for a chat, seems i annoyed him for a while but he was polite and intrested in what i had done to the car, just shows their not all "evil" people - hey maybe we could convert a few to cossie ownership!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that 22b is probably standard pushing 3oo bhp and hopfully staying that way ! you burnt off a scoob in a straight line i would put a weeks wages the 22b would hammer a sierra around a track, oh on clarkson last week dident the 22b nail a escort cossie and a evo around thruxton?? one of them.
the point is a scoob will never be a staight linner! thats why we can smile and nail you cossies around the twisties.
As for jap crap, if you want to trade a staight line try a skyline with any thing over 400bhp or maybe 900bhp your cortinas would struggle, sorry sierras.
Good point and i fully accept it! however if you Scooby drivers know that Scoobies are not straight line cars why try it on a straight road????????? Wht not catch us on the B roads???????
As for Skylines i have run against 400Bhp R33's and R34's at Santa Pod and won (probably better power to weight ratio), as for 900 Bhp then thats another matter but they do have 2 extra cylinders, an extra litre capacity and an extra turbo i would like to see any 4 pot single turbo car (cossie, scooby or evo) go against 3 litre straight six twin turbo cars which have been tuned!!!!!
Don't forget its all about good fun and friendly banter!!
TK
PS I run a 401 Bhp 4x4 Sierra and regularly enjoy trading notes with ALL tuned car owners
only one, at bluntingthorpe? ita a military aero dome near lutterworth. i was against a 355, several rs6's a couple of elises , was a good day . i was tempted at trax 04 was given some track time off a mate but the missus was not to happy as it was "her" day.
As for spec all i know mine has got is extra to a normal sti is its around 120kg's lighter than normal, with 330 bhp and same amount of torque, its got a full miltek pipe, 6 pot AP brakes boot aduster, senser (secs) loads of other goodies on it .
i had it timmed at 4.2 0-60 and 165 top end.
with spec c's the handelling is the key. look at evo magazine to get the jist on the car. Its awsome . You just cant compare it to normal sti's
Scoob owners fave saying "But i would have had him in the twisties" you say cossie owners are all straight line racers. Scoob owners are no diff in the "twisties" dept. When u have another 100bhp then u can keep talking, you would almost have the complete package. Well u cant change the fact its a rice burner.
read what i put and answer the accordingly i have never mentioned twisties etc.. i can respect a cossie no problem.
As i said read whwt i put and answer accordingly, standard cars etc... and what if i put on 100bhp onto a car that can out perform a cossie any way!
spec c mate . standard cossie eater. i aint started talking front mounted intercoolers bigger turbos yet , standard.
Also the car is worth 25k its a ltd car at that you wont see to many of em. this is the new age of moters excellent all rounders not just straight line gasket blowers
don't forget the scooby uses upto date technology, the cossie is at least 8 years old and more like 14 yrs+, how many other 14 yr old cars can still cut it.
Imagine a 400Bhp cossie with modern suspension and active diffs etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps is scoobies are so good why do they have to keep releasing new models, are the old ones outdated already. Cossies will live for ever!!!!

We are usually ahead anyway not to worry about em !
