p1 against my cossie
Permalink Closed

I had just had my new cossie for about 2 days and had just finished putting on a track rod end, when the girlfriend wanted to go into town. Was returning home when I seen the all to familiar sight of a set of scobbie headlights in the mirror. I did not know whether he would take me on, and just when I thought he had given up, and was turning off, he took me by surprise and started gunning it before the 30's end. Still in town… tut tut. He got a head start but I soon as I realized I had the foot to the floor. We were side my side 2nd 3rd 4th. I turned to the girlfriend and said 'do you realize that's a P1'. The girlfriend got really excited and was shouting 'come on cossie'.  LOL. When I changed into 5th I started pulling on him. I had to back off at 150 odd, I had remembered I had just changed a track rod end and the car was starting to wander. It was insane being at 150 side my side with a car on a b road (I must be getting sensible in my old age + the girlfriend isn’t the best off passengers). I backed off and pulled into my driveway. My house is right next to one of the most used roads for boy racers, it's a 3 mile straight. LOL

I recognized the guy driving the scoobie so when i turned off and pulled into the garage to let the car cool down, I left the light on for him to come and get the crack on his way back. I was interested in the excuses he would have. He arrived a few minutes later, which surprised me after the supposedly unbeatable car had been beaten. He had lots of questions about the car and expected me to tell him my car was running greens or greys as my cars usually are. I have had four cossies previously. You should have seen his face when I told him that the car was practically running 12psi (just a tad over standard). I'm still waiting for a new actuator and other upgrades to come home. I had just beaten a £22,000 scobbie with a 15 year old cossie. I would hate to see the roggering I would have given him if I was running 15psi.

How anyone can compare a scoobie's performance with a cosworth is beyond me. There are tuned scoobies up here but they blow up every Tuesday.

Good man, scoobys are crap and common. They deserve all they get.
